Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Barber or Braider to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in various barbering techniques and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This role involves not only cutting and braiding hair but also creating a welcoming environment for clients while promoting salon services and products.
Duties
- Perform haircuts, shaves, and other grooming services using clippers, scissors, and straight razors.
- Provide specialized services such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and hair threading as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in good condition.
- Utilize shop software for scheduling appointments, managing client records, and processing transactions.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide personalized recommendations for hairstyles and products.
- Mentor junior staff members in barbering techniques and customer service best practices.
- Assist with retail sales by promoting salon products that enhance client satisfaction.
- Manage inventory levels of supplies and report any shortages to the management team.
Requirements
- Valid barbering license or certification from an accredited institution.
- Proficient in various cutting techniques, including straight razor skills.
- Experience with shop software is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Knowledge of retail math to assist in sales tracking and inventory management is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating leadership qualities through mentoring.
- A passion for the beauty industry with a willingness to stay updated on the latest trends and techniques.
