Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking a full-time Operations Coordinator 1 to join our Women's Operations team. Are you the right person?
Position Schedule:
Tuesday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Friday - Saturday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
The Operations Coordinator serves as a key member of Nashville Rescue Mission’s Operations staff and is responsible for the coordination and supervision of special projects performed by volunteers and work therapy participants. The Operations Coordinator must have an understanding of Nashville Rescue Mission’s purpose and message and must be an innovative leader with strong management skills and the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Upholds the Mission Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct at all times.
Essential Duties:

Coordinates and supervises work therapy program participants in cleaning and maintaining the facilities.

Coordinates and supervises the cleanliness of the outside property of the facilities.

Coordinates the scheduling of special projects performed by staff, volunteers, and work therapy program participants.

Coordinates details of the special projects with the Director of Volunteer Services (materials needed, number of volunteers needed, length of time for completing project, etc.).

Oversees assigned special projects from start to finish and works hands-on with all groups to complete special projects.

Knows Mission's statistical information for use when giving tours to volunteer groups.

Reports completion of all special projects to supervisor.

Able to complete and maintain the Work Therapy schedule.

Must train and be able to perform as directed in the following areas:
- Volunteer Services
- Assists Director of Volunteer Services in managing volunteer-related communication in a timely and professional manner.

Greets volunteers and provides them with volunteer information and explains the procedures for them to become a Mission volunteer.

Helps manage volunteer systems with scheduling, updating information, and inputting waivers.

Manages the volunteer email by sending daily messages and answering questions from volunteers.

Answers the phone with professionalism and knowledge about the volunteer process.

Provides an updated volunteer schedule to Kitchen, Front Desk, Warehouse, and Guest Services staff members, daily.
- Warehouse
- Receives, sorts, stores, and disburses purchased and donated inventory.

Pulls and delivers supplies for other departments as required.

Maintains the warehouse area in clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Secures warehouse each night and maintains security of the warehouse during hours of operation.

Works with volunteers and work therapy program participants and to enhance warehouse operations.

Trains staff, volunteers, and work therapy program participants on all warehouse policies and procedures.
- Custodial Services
- Coordinates and directly supervises work therapy program participants in cleaning and sanitation to ensure the facilities are safe.

Coordinates and supervises the cleanliness of the outside property of the facility.

Ensures the availability and proper mixing of all chemical and cleaning products, to maintain a safe working environment as well as an efficient cleaning procedure.

Maintains and services the landscaped areas including all plants, shrubbery, trees, and lawn.

Supervises and directly handles all equipment operations including such items as: floor buffers, floor cleaning machine, carpet cleaner, fans, and similar equipment.
10. Required to work holidays and rotating weekends.
Other Duties:
Performs other duties as requested by Director of Operations.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Moderate reading and writing skills; typing/computer usage; proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical Factors:
Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing 40 pounds or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
