Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and manual cleaning techniques to ensure all dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware are spotless and sanitized
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations by regularly cleaning work surfaces, sinks, and storage areas in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with bussing tables and clearing dining areas to support seamless food service flow
- Handle food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient organization under supervision
- Adhere strictly to food safety management protocols and kitchen health and safety standards at all times
- Assist in the proper handling and storage of food items following sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination
- Support kitchen staff with heavy lifting of supplies or equipment while following manual handling safety procedures
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and kitchen health standards
- Ability to operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently; manual handling skills are essential
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and physical activity throughout shifts
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary operations
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
