Shift Lead – Milano's Restaurant (East Boston)

About Us
Milano's is a busy neighborhood deli and restaurant serving East Boston with quality food and friendly service. We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Shift Lead who can keep operations running smoothly while leading by example.
Responsibilities
- Lead the front-of-house team during your shift
- Work the counter and provide exceptional customer service
- Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other menu items at the cold station
- Check takeout and delivery orders for accuracy before they leave the restaurant
- Open or close the restaurant following established procedures
- Oversee daily operations and keep the team organized during busy periods
- Delegate tasks and ensure excellent service and food quality
- Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and health standards
- Assist with stocking, prep, and inventory
- Handle customer concerns professionally and support the team wherever needed
Qualifications
- Restaurant or deli experience required
- Previous shift lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Deli or sandwich shop experience is a strong plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Sunday availability is required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to lead by example
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
