We are seeking an organized, motivated, and customer-focused Assistant General Manager to support the daily operations of our hotel. The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager to ensure exceptional guest service, efficient hotel operations, and a positive work environment for all team members.
This position assists with staff supervision, scheduling, training, revenue management, and operational oversight while helping maintain brand standards and profitability. The Assistant General Manager will assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager.
Front Desk Requirement: Assistant General Manager will be expected to work front desk shifts as needed to support operations
Responsibilities
- Assist with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel.
- Support the General Manager in maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction and service.
- Assist with rate management and maximizing occupancy and revenue.
- Help implement operational strategies and company policies.
- Assist in maintaining operating budgets and controlling expenses.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise hotel staff.
- Prepare employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Monitor compliance with brand standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Resolve guest concerns and employee issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with preparing daily audit reports, bank deposits, and operational reports for ownership or upper management.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of hotel supplies.
- Help identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Serve as Manager on Duty and oversee hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager.
- Perform front desk duties and other operational tasks as needed to support the team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous hotel experience required; experience as a Front Office Manager, Assistant General Manager, or similar leadership position preferred.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, guest service, and revenue management.
- Experience with scheduling, staff supervision, and employee development.
- Basic knowledge of budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
