JOB SUMMARY:
We have a great opportunity for a full-time Compliance Analyst to join our team of Credit Union professionals in Greensburg, PA, Monday through Friday. You will be responsible for supporting the Credit Union’s financial industry compliance efforts through quality control reviews and monitoring transactional activity, identifying potential suspicious activities in accordance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations, and ensuring timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports. The Compliance Analyst will stay current with emerging risks and changes in regulations to evaluate the Credit Union’s existing procedures and recommend any operational changes to further mitigate risks and enhance the overall compliance program.
The Compliance Analyst will partner closely with the Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee, auditors, examiners, and other Credit Union employees to foster a culture of compliance. The Compliance Analyst will prepare documentation for independent audits and regulatory examinations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor BSA compliance across the organization including FinCEN 314(a) monitoring, alerts, reviews, investigations, creating and filing reports and other fraud/BSA related matters.
- Perform daily and periodic transaction monitoring and investigate potentially suspicious transactions including but not limited to, structuring, identity fraud, elder abuse and high-risk accounts to detect, prevent, and minimize potential losses.
- Prepare and submit timely Currency Transaction Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports.
- Assist in conducting periodic BSA risk assessments.
- Provide guidance to employees on BSA-related policy, procedures, and information.
- Support development and delivery of BSA training to staff and Board members.
- Review OFAC alerts and FinCEN postings for potential matches and respond promptly.
- Review dormant share accounts daily as an internal control and annually process dormant share accounts in compliance with the Pennsylvania Disposition of Abandoned and Unclaimed Property Act.
- Audit new memberships and wire activity for compliance with NCUA and Credit Union requirements.
- Conduct reviews of lending documents.
- Provide support for audit engagements, regulatory exams, and reviews by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Review audit results and assist management in addressing actionable recommendations.
- Function as the primary liaison for the Supervisory Committee by providing documentation for their periodic reviews and addressing questions.
- Maintain logs, records, and documentation to ensure compliance with record retention and tracking requirements. Coordinate removal and transportation of all records to off-site storage facility.
- Generate applicable reports for management, Board of Directors, and committees.
- Monitor Credit Union adherence to federal, state, and industry regulations.
- Stay current with changes in state and federal regulations affecting Credit Union operations as well as emerging risks and fraud trends in the industry.
- Perform other tasks, functions, and projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required and some relevant work experience preferred.
