CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION SPECIALIST (LASO Grant) JOB DESCRIPTION
REPORTS TO SUPERINTENDENT
LASO GRANT AND TITLE 2 FUNDS
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Curriculum Implementation Specialist serves as part of the Instructional Leadership Team and is responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with and supporting teachers with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity with the daily use of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). He or she works as a district instructional leader with classroom teachers to support student learning through the effective implementation of HQIM. The Curriculum Implementation Specialist focuses on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-based effective instruction and curriculum implementation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas Teacher Certification
Minimum 5 years of elementary classroom teaching experience
Minimum 2 years of instructional leadership role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in educational leadership, or equivalent
Strong knowledge of Eureka for elementary or Carnegie for secondary
Strong knowledge of effective teaching strategies
Bilingual (Spanish)
Knowledge of strategies and materials for the education of special populations
Strong oral and written communication skills
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Provide all teachers with professional development to implement effective HQIM instructional strategies.
2. Demonstrate proper implementation of effective HQIM instructional strategies in the lesson internalization process by creating exemplar HQIM lessons.
3. Demonstrate proper implementation of effective HQIM instructional strategies in the lesson delivery process by teaching exemplar HQIM lessons in classrooms.
4. Evaluate and provide feedback on the proper implementation of effective strategies by monitoring HQIM lesson internalization samples.
5. Evaluate and provide feedback on the proper HQIM implementation of effective strategies by providing real-time coaching.
6. Collect data related to the implementation of effective HQIM instructional strategies and its impact on student engagement and achievement.
7. Analyze student engagement and achievement data to make recommendations on district and campus improvement plans.
8. Present student engagement and achievement data to various stakeholder audiences.
9. Provide all teachers with professional development to implement the district adopted curriculum.
10. Demonstrate proper implementation of the district adopted curriculum by creating and teaching exemplar lessons.
11. Evaluate and provide feedback on the proper implementation of district adopted curriculum by monitoring lesson plan submissions.
12. As needed, become an active member of specific instructional leadership teams and carry-out duties accordingly.
13. Conduct various teacher meetings, such as HQIM PLCs, Department Meetings, Data Meetings, etc.
14. Attend professional development workshops and present information to campus and district instructional leadership.
15. Teach classes as needed.
16. Performs all other duties and services assigned by supervisors.

Driving to different campus locations as scheduled.
Positively acknowledging the effort put into lesson plans while recommending modifications and enhancements.
