Our Trusts, Probates, Real Property and Small Business law practice is seeking a dependable, organized, and personable part-time legal assistant/secretary to assist the sole practitioner 1–2 days per week. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a professional yet flexible work environment and has strong administrative and communication skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable handling a variety of legal support tasks with discretion and efficiency. Our firm designs, prepares and executes estate plans, handles probate and estate administration matters, forms business entities and assists in their compliance, transfers title to properties and other various private client services.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide legal administrative support to sole-proprietor attorney.
· Assist with probate and trust administration e-filings and correspondence.
· Coordinate and schedule client appointments and maintain attorney calendar.
· Provide professional in-office support and assistance during client appointments.
· Minor administrative tasks such as new client file setup and maintenance, scanning, and copying, shipping FedEx and USPS.
Qualifications and Requirements
· Knowledge of legal terminology, standard legal practices and court system.
· Skilled with Corel Word Perfect, MS Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat Business, Zoom, DocuSign.
· Ability to work with legal technology (primarily Essential Forms and First American DataTree) and easily learn and navigate new software.
· Comfortable using Google email and calendar.
· Notary public is a plus.
· Strong attention to details and excellent proof-reading skills.
Job Types: Part-time 1-2 days per week / 8-12 hours per week, depending on workload; in-office only (not remote)
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Schedule: Hours flexible within core business hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm
