Johnson Pipe seeks permanent Counter Sales Associate for its Chicago location.
Counter Sales Associate Experience preferred. Workers with knowledge of valves and fittings and/or picking, shipping, receiving, and fork-lift operations are especially desired but we are willing to train those who demonstrate an aptitude and willingness to learn and work hard. We expect our employees to be teamwork-oriented and results driven. The position includes operating a variety of hand and power tools, and the position involves physical labor including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects. A safety-first mindset is a must-have for our potential employee.
Job Duties May Include:
- Sells products to meet customer needs
- Will assist Will Call customers, determine their needs, and enter and print orders for merchandise based on their requirements
- Process payment for cash only customers
- Pulling, filling, packing, and setting up orders for delivery or pickup
- Ability to load and off-load a truck
- Follow any special instructions pertaining to an individual order
- Receive shipments, apply material committed to a sales order and maintain inventory through audits/counts
- Assist in keeping facility clean, neat, safe and operating efficiently, both within our four walls and the exterior grounds
- Keep tools, carts, pallet jack, etc., within their designated area
- Follow all established policy and safety guidelines in a drug-free workplace
- Attend product knowledge meetings as required by management
Job Requirements:
- Stand/walk for duration of work hours
- Computer entry skills
- Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 70 lbs.)
- Pass a drug screen and background check
- Education: High school diploma/GED preferred
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in similar position preferred
