Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register (POS system) efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges with precision.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other payment methods while maintaining accurate cash drawer handling.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new merchandise to enhance sales opportunities.
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented in accordance with merchandising standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.
- Follow phone etiquette when answering store calls and assist with product information or store inquiries as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math accurately for retail math calculations.
- Supervising experience is advantageous but not required; leadership qualities are appreciated.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and stock management enhances performance.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette.
