At Mateenbar, the Maintenance Controls Technician is responsible for dismantle, repair, assemble, install, and set up production machines. This includes working with the maintenance supervisor and operations manager to troubleshoot machines in the production of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) rebar. The candidate will also be responsible for projects that will require some level of systems integration or at least work with outside system integrators to design and complete projects. A high level of communication is expected to communicate turnover responsibilities and resolutions to production team members daily. The candidate who possesses high energy, great people skills, and takes the initiative for a proactive approach is desirable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnoses and corrects control problems associated with equipment performance on PLC controls associated with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and lubrication systems
Work on assigned projects to enhance or modify control logic or program capability of machine equipment and process equipment.
Evaluate existing equipment and implement design drawings received from continuous improvement and safety suggestions
Investigate alternative spare parts suppliers and service vendors
Support weekend or nighttime shifts by telephone; occasional weekend call-in support
Communicate daily and collaboratively to managers and team members.
Prepare/write specifications and purchase requisitions and identify parts to replace or purchase.
Stay current on controls and machine knowledge; train and share knowledge with the operations.
Troubleshooting machines and process equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma with minimum of 5 years of experience, OR a 2-year technical college education with min. three years’ experience, programming PLC’s and controls in a maintenance, manufacturing environment programming PLCs and controls.
- Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions
- Must be able to read blueprints, draw up new sketches and concepts, develop scope of work and make corrections to blueprints.
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley or Keyence controls for troubleshooting.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD required.
Preferred Certifications or Experience:
- Proficiency in Schneider Electric Controls
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience on production and equipment and basic understanding of machinery operation and maintenance requirements.
- Exposure to plant electrical systems and safety.

- High attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
