Job Summary
Join our small family owned 2 doctor optometry practice as an Optometry/Ophthalmic Scribe. We are now on a new EMR (electronic medical record) system. The EHR is Eyefinity. The position will assist prepopulating relevant data prior to the appointment. We have an older patient population that does not do well with patient portals. We also are needing physical scribe in the exam room typing office notes and interactions so that our doctors can excel at caring for patients directly.
Responsibilities
- Manage records to comply with federal HIPPA compliance and privacy standards.
- Assist clinicians with medical documentation accurately and effeciently.
- Utilize medical terminology knowledge related to eye anatomy and physiology.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate office flow. Office flow is bottle necking with new EHR implementation.
Experience
- Must have 1 year minimum experience in an ophthalmology or optometry practice. Employee will have understanding of eye care related abbreviations and documentation of eye anatomy. We will not train without eyecare experience.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems. We will be using Eyefinity. It is a division of Mod-Med. Eyefinity is new to our practice March 2026 as we transitioned from Officemate for 20 years. The transition is not going well and we need more hands on deck.
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
