Job Description
The Teacher Assistant for the Maintenance Program assists instructors with daily classroom operations, tool room organization, learning material preparation, and student mentoring. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting student success in a hands-on technical training environment.
This is fully onsite position.
Job Duties
Instructional & Classroom Support

Assist instructors with classroom and lab set-up and clean-up before and after class.

Prepare instructional materials such as handouts, worksheets, tool lists, and learning aids.

Organize digital files, lesson materials, and course documentation.

Help lead small study groups or review sessions before exams.

Mentor new students on program expectations, tool room procedures, and lab etiquette.

Support instructors during field trips, open houses, program tours, or special events.
Tooling, Equipment, & Lab Operations

Organize and distribute tools, equipment, and training aids for daily lessons.

Track tool check-in/check-out and maintain tool accountability.

Maintain clean, orderly, and safety-compliant lab spaces.

Assist with setting up training aids (engines, components, mock-ups, etc.).

Support inventory management by logging consumables and notifying instructors when supplies run low.

Assist with routine equipment checks (visual inspections, basic cleaning).

Maintain classroom organization—restock materials, arrange seating, update bulletin boards, etc.

Support instructors in monitoring PPE use and general safety compliance.
Required Skills & Experience

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience in aviation maintenance, technical education, or a related hands-on training environment.

Familiarity with shop tools, safety procedures, and lab operations.

Previous experience mentoring or supporting students.

Knowledge of PPE standards and basic safety compliance.

Experience in organizing learning materials or supporting classroom instruction.
