A growing plastics manufacturer in the Omaha area is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead all procurement activities across the organization. This is a newly dedicated role created as a result of company growth and a recent acquisition, making it an exceptional opportunity to build and elevate the purchasing function within a stable and expanding business.
Our Client company manufactures plastic components and products for leading powersports, recreational vehicle, consumer, and retail markets. Customers include nationally recognized brands, and we continue to experience significant growth through both organic expansion and strategic partnerships.
What You'll Do
- Lead all purchasing and procurement activities for the manufacturing operation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements.
- Source raw materials, plastic resins, color concentrates, packaging materials, pallets, and production supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with operations to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with leadership to support business growth and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the purchasing function.
- Knowledge of inventory management, sourcing strategies, and manufacturing operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plastics manufacturing experience.
- Experience purchasing resins, polymers, or other manufacturing raw materials.
- Background in injection molding, extrusion, industrial manufacturing, or related industries.
