Lorraine’s Daycare & Preschool has been part of the Burley community for over 40 years. We care for children in a warm, safe, purpose-built facility with plenty of room to learn and play—including a full indoor gym. Our team is friendly, supportive, and focused on helping kids grow through structure, encouragement, and hands-on play.
Position Overview
We’re looking for dependable, positive substitute teachers/assistants who can fill in on an as-needed basis when our regular staff are out. This is a flexible role that’s perfect for someone who enjoys working with kids but doesn’t need a full-time schedule.
What You’ll Do
- Step into classrooms ages 0–5 and support the daily routine.
- Supervise and engage with children during play, meals, learning time, and naps.
- Follow classroom plans and assist teachers with activities and transitions.
- Provide a safe, caring, calm environment.
- Help with light cleanup and simple snack prep if needed.
- Communicate kindly with staff and parents when appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable and comfortable working with young children.
- Friendly, patient, and able to fit into different classrooms.
- Able to follow direction and step into routines smoothly.
- Willingness to complete a required background check.
- Experience with childcare is a plus, but not required—we will train.

Schedule & Pay
- On-call, as-needed position based on staff absences and daily ratios.
- Weekday shifts (Monday–Friday).
- Competitive pay based on experience.
