Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic High School Physical Education (PE) Teacher to inspire students to develop a lifelong passion for health, fitness, and sportsmanship. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive PE lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative learning technology and creative teaching methods.
- Lead engaging sports coaching sessions, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical skill development across various activities.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, performance evaluations, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Mentor students on personal health goals, academic advising related to physical education pathways, and childhood development principles.
- Incorporate literacy education strategies into lessons when appropriate to enhance communication skills alongside physical training.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives that integrate geometry, trigonometry, calculus, algebra, and other math concepts into physical education activities where applicable.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience teaching high school students in a physical education setting within a private or public school environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms effectively while applying behavior management techniques tailored for working with children.
- Experience in sports coaching with a focus on fostering teamwork and leadership skills among adolescents.
- Knowledge of special education needs and inclusive teaching practices to support all learners’ success.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures in educational settings; experience in tutoring or academic advising is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for public speaking, parent engagement, and mentoring students through their academic and personal growth journeys.
- Background in curriculum development that integrates childhood development theories such as Montessori or other progressive educational models is advantageous. Pay: $65,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
