About the Role
We are seeking a patient, compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide 1:1 Community Habilitation support for a friendly 16-year-old young man with autism and ADHD.
This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with teens, providing calm structure, and helping a young person build independence, confidence, safety skills, and social connections both at home and in the community.

Pay & Benefits
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Mileage Reimbursement: Mileage covered for approved community outings

Key Responsibilities
The DSP will provide support in the following areas:
Community Engagement: Assist with outings, errands, recreational activities, and community participation while helping avoid large crowds when possible.
Skill Building: Help teach and reinforce safety skills, including learning address and phone number, following directions, and navigating the community safely.
Social Development: Support communication skills, appropriate social interactions, and opportunities to build friendships.
Daily Living Support: Provide reminders, encouragement, and guidance with routines, hygiene, healthy habits, and age-appropriate independence.
Mentorship: Encourage confidence, participation, and engagement in interests such as music, art, and community activities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Candidate must have a valid NYS Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and the ability to work independently while following a structured support plan.
