Responsibilities
- Support painters by preparing surfaces through sanding, caulking, priming, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Mix paints and coatings accurately according to project specifications using hand tools and power tools
- Assist with the setup and operation of paint sprayers, including conventional and airless spray equipment
- Use ladders safely to reach high or hard-to-access areas during painting and surface preparation tasks
- Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to all safety protocols on-site
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to assist in accurate application of paint and coatings
- Help with finishing tasks such as trim carpentry, fixture installation, and minor drywall repairs to support comprehensive project completion
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings is preferred
- Experience with residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting projects is a plus
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and the use of safety equipment including respiratory protection
- Ability to handle hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), brushes, rollers, and other painting equipment effectively
- Strong attention to detail for visual color comparison and surface quality standards
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, climb ladders safely, and perform manual tasks requiring strength and dexterity
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and mixing paints accurately
- Prior experience in renovation, restoration, framing carpentry, or handyman work is advantageous but not required
