Duties
- keep work area clean take pictures of all work been done, BPI certification prefered but not requiered
- Prepare work areas by cleaning surfaces, framing openings, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely for access
- Install various insulation materials such as fiberglass, foam board, spray foam, or mineral wool according to project requirements
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, fit, and secure insulation materials in walls, ceilings, attics, and other spaces
- Follow strict safety protocols including proper ladder use, power tool safety practices, and adherence to OSHA standards
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, roofers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of insulation within the construction process
- Interpret technical schematics and blueprints accurately to meet project specifications and quality standards
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or any site-specific concerns
Skills
- Construction estimating experience is a plus for understanding project scope and material needs
- Proficiency in ladder use, climbing safely at various heights on job sites
- Mechanical knowledge for operating tools and understanding building systems involved in insulation installation
- Skilled in using hand tools such as knives, drills, staplers, caulking guns, and fabricators for precise work
- Strong foundation in basic math for measurements, calculations, and material estimations
- Ability to read and follow blueprint specifications accurately for proper installation techniques
- Experience with building insulation installation across diverse construction environments including framing, roofing, stucco application, and drywall finishing
- Knowledge of safety protocols including power tool safety procedures and proper use of scaffolding or lifts
- Familiarity with interpreting schematics and technical drawings related to construction projects
- Construction site experience with an emphasis on quality workmanship in framing, carpentry (including trim carpentry), masonry, or plastering is advantageous
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients regarding project details or site conditions
