Job Summary: Being an ambassador for our restaurant brand by playing a key role in contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen during service and ultimately meeting our customers’ expectations and satisfaction. Prep and prepare, following recipes, quality ingredients that meet the Executive Chef’s specifications and assist the Executive Chef, Sous Chef. Set up stations for the menu and specials. Responsible for inventory and maintaining sanitation all standards.
Job Description
Functions and Competencies:
· Set up and stock kitchen stations with all necessary supplies.
· Prepare food for service; cleaning and chopping ingredients, butchering meat, and/or preparing sauces as directed.
· Preparing food including and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers to restaurant’s recipes and menu specifications.
· Plating dishes in accordance of restaurant’s menu specifications.
Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
· Working with servers to ensure that food orders come out simultaneously, in high quality, cooked to customer specifications in a timely fashion.
· Working with Chefs, Managers and event staff to ensure timely presentation and service.
· Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, timing, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
· Follow all allergen safety standards and protocols for customer safety.
· Ensure kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and all regulations followed.
- Comply with all nutrition, sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Stock inventory and supplies following all proper rotation protocols.
· Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
· Washing, cleaning, sanitizing the kitchen, cooking utensils and proper storage of equipment meeting all health guidelines.
- Clean station and appropriately store and/or dispose of leftover food according to restaurant standards and health guidelines.
· Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with all coworkers and customers through all undertakings within the business.
- Possess excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure.
- The ability to work on your feet all day and lift 50 pounds at a time.
- Maintain updated availability on 7 Shifts software and arrive at scheduled time to prepare for service.
- Ability to follow dress code policy.
- Additional requests as needed for the smooth operation of the shift.
Education and Training:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Previous restaurant experience
· Knowledge of all food industry’s best practices and safety standards
· Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field.
· Culinary school diploma
Servsafe Certification, preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
