Consolidated Medical Staffing is looking to add Nurses to our family; specifically for Correctional Institutes in South Carolina and North Carolina! These shifts are 12 hours and we are looking to bring on staff who can work 2-3 shifts per week.
Previous experience preferred-
Responsibilities Include:
- Identifies and collects information concerning the health status of patients.
- Identifies and distinguishes between abnormal and normal clinical findings and reports abnormal findings to the RN and/or Physician.
- Identifies patient care concerns, assists in the development of appropriate nursing care plans and interventions for actual and potential problems.
- Implements nursing interventions as developed within the nursing plan of care for acute and chronic health concerns.
- Participates in identification of knowledge deficits concerning health and provides health education to patients regarding health prevention and promotion.
- Transcribes physician’s orders, obtains verification for each order and document in the appropriate form (nursing Kardex, medication administration record or treatment sheets) to ensure continuity of care.
- Performs medication management that includes administration of oral, topical and parenteral routes.
- Responsible for completion of medication cart audits, reconciliation of medication administration record (MAR) using all pertinent information for timely and accurate review.
- Participates in performance improvement activities, patient safety and infection control activities that include data collection and analysis for peer review, root cause analysis and PDCA studies for the unit and organization.
- Accountable for the delivery of compassionate and professional care as defined within the ANA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
- Maintains the image of the facilities and the work areas as a safe, clean, efficient, caring organization by demonstrating a team approach which produces an environment conducive to patient, family and team well-being.
- Displays a professional image that is conducive to patient, family and team well-being.
- Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
- Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
- Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
- Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Must possess current, non-restricted license as Registered Nurse or LPN from State of SC or NC.
- Current CPR Certification
- Recent TB Skin Test
- Clear Background Check
- Clean Drug Screen
- Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with patients, and patients families, to elicit cooperation and ease apprehensions
- Must be able to pass and maintain clearance for a Public Trust Position, if working with specific patients
