Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Laborer to join our team. The candidate will be an efficient, safety-minded Laborer for a residential and commercial underground infrastructure and electric organization. Capability of working with minimal supervision and willing to follow directions closely. Additionally, he or she should be familiar with construction, power, telecom and gas industry safety standards and procedures to ensure project security.
Duties
- Dig pits, trenches and foundations in preparation for job site construction
- Operate machinery, including construction vehicles
- Identify utility lines
- Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site
- Direct traffic when necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians, motorists and work crew
- Back-fill trenches and pits when necessary
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while performing tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide labor support as needed for specialty crew
- Watch backhoe operator dig around existing utilities
- Install conduit and place sand around conduit
- Blow rope and mandrel conduits
- Run compaction equipment
Qualifications
- 1 year construction industry experience preferred
- Basic understanding of construction, power and gas principles, safety and procedures
- Ability to operate an automatic transmission vehicle
- Comfortable working in high stress environment with extreme weather fluctuation
- Ability to lift heavy loads, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to navigate construction job site terrain
- High school diploma/ GED preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 per hour
