Responsibilities
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales transactions swiftly and efficiently
- Greet customers warmly, providing friendly and professional phone etiquette when assisting over the phone or in person
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including giving correct change and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist customers with product inquiries, offering product demos and upselling relevant items to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Support inventory management through stocking, inventory counts, and reporting discrepancies or low stock levels
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in multiple languages (bilingual skills are a plus)
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail setting is desirable
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and sales processing
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and stock management is advantageous
- Excellent phone etiquette, interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude to foster a welcoming atmosphere
