The Big Island Pet Care Center team is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team of dedicated animal healthcare professionals. As a Vet Assistant at Big Island Pet Care Center, you will work closely with our veterinarians and technicians to provide exceptional care to our patients and their owners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with animal exams, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Assist with administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Assist with diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiography
- Educate clients on animal care, nutrition, and disease prevention
- Monitor patients during and after medical procedures and report any changes in their condition
- Maintain medical records and ensure accuracy and completeness
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Consistent medical support team performance and individual job satisfaction.
- Follow clinic standards of hygiene & sterilization for all patient areas, tools, & equipment.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of Veterinary Technician or Assistant experience.
- Open availability, including weekends and overnight
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be reliable and punctual
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
