Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Light Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems in commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of HVAC/R equipment, enhance building comfort, and support property maintenance operations. Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HVAC/R equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults within complex systems.
- Install or replace mechanical components, piping, electrical wiring, and refrigerant lines following safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting work performed and parts used.
- Support property maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs and building automation system adjustments to optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerant handling and other environmental standards; maintain necessary certifications such as EPA certification.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC/R systems with construction or property maintenance background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing mechanical systems such as boilers or ammonia refrigeration units.
- Ability to read schematics, HVAC design documents, and electrical wiring diagrams accurately.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls for system optimization.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; familiar with plumbing and refrigeration principles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> driver vehicles is advantageous.
- Certifications including EPA refrigerant handling certification; additional skills in welding or appliance repair are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments.
