About Kalos
Kalos is a fitness technology company redefining how people understand and improve their healthspan. We combine clinical-grade DEXA technology, elite-level coaching, and an AI-powered software stack to help thousands live healthier, happier lives.
We don’t just give people DEXA scans. We focus on improving the numbers.
Founded in 2024, we have locations in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and San Jose, and are rapidly expanding across the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
The Role
We are looking for DEXA Technicians to join our Los Angeles team and deliver a top-class scan experience for our members. You'll be the face of Kalos: the first person a member sees, the person who runs their scan, and the person who makes a clinical-grade experience feel warm and effortless. You'll work directly with our analysts and General Managers, providing the key data points our analysts use to transform the health of thousands.
This is a high-energy, high-volume role. On a busy day you'll run around 50 scans, guiding each member through their experience. If being around people all day gives you energy, you'll love it here.
Based on performance, there are real opportunities to expand into sales and growth.
No X-ray license? No problem.
You do not need a license or any prior imaging experience to apply. We provide a full paid licensing pathway: virtual training on August 6-7, 2026, then two days of in-person training in San Diego with all travel, accommodation, and logistics covered by Kalos. If you already hold a California Limited Permit X-ray Technician license, you skip training entirely and are prioritized and fast-tracked through our hiring process.
At Kalos, You Will:
- Perform full body DEXA scans and guide members through a seamless experience from start to finish
- Work in our storefront locations, delivering consistent, high quality scans
- Deliver DEXA reports to members and internal analysts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of scan data
- Handle administrative tasks and keep the location running smoothly
- Take on additional scope based on performance
Who You Are
- A people person. You genuinely enjoy high-volume face-to-face work and leave a busy day energized, not drained
- Experienced with customers or clients in some form: front of house, reception, hospitality, retail, or administrative/executive assistant work
- Precise and process-driven. You follow protocols exactly and catch small errors before they become problems
- Personally connected to health and fitness. You don't need to be an athlete, but you should care about your own health and be curious about measuring it
- Bonus: you know what a DEXA scan is, or you've had one yourself
- Bonus: you hold a California Limited Permit X-ray Technician license
Requirements
- Work onsite at our Los Angeles locations 5 days per week
- Consistent Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday schedule, 7:30am to 4:00pm
- At least one weekend day is mandatory
- If you don't already hold a California X-ray license: available for paid licensing training, virtual on August 6-7, 2026, plus one two-day in-person block in San Diego (August 27-28 or August 28-29). Start dates run between September and November 2026
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $35.58/hr ($74,000 annualized at 40 hrs/week)
- Performance Bonus: $500/month
- Total Cash Compensation: starting at approximately $80,000
- Overtime: paid at 1.5x ($53.37/hour) in accordance with California law. Technicians may have opportunities to work additional hours based on demand. For example, working ~8 overtime hours per week consistently would increase total annual compensation to approximately $102,000
Benefits include:
- Covered gym membership (Crunch, Gold's Gym, or an equivalent LA gym)
- Medical, Dental, Vision (Anthem)
- 401(k)
- Paid Time Off & Sick Leave
- Complimentary DEXA scans, wellness testing, and access to elite coaches
