Job Overview
Rev1 Energy is seeking a certified NETA Level II Technician to oversee and perform protective relay and electrical apparatus testing at a new-build substation. The technician will support commissioning activities and help ensure that all equipment is tested safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
The successful candidate must be available to mobilize on September 1, 2026, and remain onsite for the anticipated four- to six-week project duration.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed testing and inspection of electrical systems, including circuit boards, electronic circuit boards, and electrical equipment using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures, system faults, and equipment malfunctions to identify underlying issues efficiently.
- Utilize schematic diagrams, electrical blueprints, schematics, and CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation) to interpret electrical designs and troubleshoot complex systems.
- Assist in project scheduling, planning, and coordination of testing activities to meet operational deadlines.
- Support the installation of new electrical systems by reading schematics, assembling components with hand tools, soldering surface mount technology (SMT), and verifying circuit functionality through circuit testing.
Qualifications
- Certified as a NETA II Technician with proven experience in electrical diagnostics and testing procedures.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics reading, circuit boards, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and electronic systems troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation or SolidWorks for designing or interpreting electrical layouts.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols for electrical work.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools including ohmmeters, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic testing devices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics and blueprints accurately while applying engineering troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on root cause analysis for complex electrical issues.
- Excellent communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
