This position is CONTINGENT on contract award. The Aircraft Mechanic II – Hydraulics performs KC-135 aircraft maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and documentation in support of organizational/intermediate/depot-level maintenance requirements at Fairchild AFB, WA with potential TDY support to other KC-135 locations as directed. The position specializes in aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, flight control, landing gear, and related mechanical systems.

Perform KC-135 hydraulic, pneumatic, flight control, landing gear, brake, and related aircraft systems maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, repair, and documentation.

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, service, bleed, rig, and operationally check hydraulic and pneudraulic components and systems.

Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, pre-flight, thru-flight, post-flight, and inspection-related tasks as assigned.

Interpret and apply technical orders, maintenance manuals, drawings, schematics, work instructions, and other approved technical data.

Use aircraft maintenance tools, test equipment, pressure servicing equipment, torque wrenches, measuring devices, and other approved equipment as required.

Document maintenance actions in approved aircraft forms, records, logs, and Government maintenance systems.

Support aircraft launch, recovery, servicing, and general flightline maintenance tasks as required.

Comply with Tool Control, FOD prevention, safety, quality, security, and local operating requirements.

Provide technical guidance or on-the-job training to less experienced mechanics as directed.

Support TDY maintenance operations at other KC-135 locations as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
-
High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
Experience
-
Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience on an Air Force wide-body platform, preferably KC-135, or equivalent experience is required.

Aircraft hydraulics, pneumatics, flight controls, landing gear, brake systems, servicing, troubleshooting, repair, and operational check experience is required.

Experience using aircraft technical orders, maintenance manuals, system schematics, and aircraft maintenance documentation is required.

A&P certification is preferred but not required.
Licenses/ Certification/ Registration
Must have a valid state driver’s license when required by job assignment.-
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Must possess and maintain a current Secret security clearance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS TDY travel, as required by the contract or task order.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver’s license if required.

Must obtain all certifications and training required to perform assigned duties.

Must have working knowledge of aircraft hydraulic and pneudraulic maintenance practices.

Must be able to read and interpret technical data, system schematics, maintenance manuals, and work instructions.

Must be able to prioritize workload and support production schedules.

Must be able to work day shift, night shift, weekends, holidays, overtime, or adjusted schedules as required.

Must be willing and able to travel TDY as required.
