Front Desk & Operations Associate (Part-Time)

Position Details
Location: 1044 W Kinzie St, Chicago, IL 60642
Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: Flexible morning shift (typically 6:00–11:00 AM or 8:00 AM–1:00 PM)
- 25 hours per week
- No regular weekend shifts
- Additional hours may occasionally be available for staff coverage, special events, or operational projects
Reports to: General Manager
About the Role
This role combines customer service with day-to-day operations. You’ll be the first person members see when they walk through the door while also helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. We’re looking for someone who notices the details, takes initiative, and enjoys staying active throughout the workday.
Client Experience & Front Desk
- Welcome members and guests with a friendly, professional attitude
- Answer phone calls, texts, and emails regarding services, scheduling, pricing, and general questions
- Manage prospective client inquiries, intake calls, and initial information gathering
- Schedule appointments using Mindbody, assist with client packages and process point-of-sale transactions
- Provide facility tours and help onboard new members
- Deliver the high-touch customer service Wattage is known for
Operations & Facility Maintenance
- Rotate laundry throughout each shift
- Vacuum, wipe down, restock, and organize training areas, locker rooms, bathrooms, recovery spaces, and common areas
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility throughout the day
- Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management
- Assist with monthly local supply runs (Costco, Target, CVS). Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Pick up coffee for Free Coffee Fridays
- Assist with capturing photos/videos and creating occasional social media content
- Help set up and break down the gym for events and special projects
- Support trainers and management with additional operational projects as needed in a growing small business

- Comfortable learning scheduling software (Mindbody), point-of-sale systems, email, and texting platforms
- Comfortable performing physical tasks, including cleaning, laundry, making supply runs, lifting supplies and weights, and being on your feet throughout the shift
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards
- Reliable transportation
Nice to Have
- Interest in fitness, health, or wellness
- Customer service, hospitality, or front desk experience
- Experience using scheduling software or point-of-sale systems
- Social media or content creation experience
