American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care ICU Float Pool position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Work in a teaching hospital's Critical Care Float Pool
-
Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
-
Float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU

Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Uses Epic EMR
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Teaching hospital experience required

Previous travel nursing experience required

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Proficiency with Epic EMR required

Required skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management experience

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU specialties as part of a float pool team

Skills utilized may include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

May assist with chest tube insertion/removal, EVD and ICP monitoring, CVA/acute stroke management, and cardiac dysrhythmia management

Locals are accepted at the same rate

RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing contract, either by driving to an in-state location or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet
