Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum focused on outdoor exploration, environmental awareness, and early childhood education principles.
- Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth.
- Plan and facilitate hands-on activities that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and sensory play within natural settings.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and individualized behavior management techniques.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design lesson plans that align with standards for preschool education, including Montessori methods when applicable.
- Support children’s development in areas such as language skills, fine and gross motor skills, and early intervention strategies for diverse learning needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or special needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare environments; classroom management skills are essential.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
- Experience with curriculum development that integrates literacy education, math, physical education, and sensory activities.
- Familiarity with special education strategies, early intervention techniques, and behavior management approaches.
- Prior classroom experience with toddlers or preschool-aged children is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Certification or training in early childhood education is a plus.
