We are seeking motivated, customer-focused Seasonal Pharmacy Technician Immunizers to support pharmacy operations during the busy immunization season. This role is responsible for assisting with workflow, delivering exceptional patient care, and administering immunizations in accordance with Connecticut state regulations, company policies, and clinical best practices. Reporting to the District Scheduler, this position requires reliable transportation and flexibility in supporting vaccinations in multiple stores within the district.
The ideal candidate is an active Connecticut-registered pharmacy technician with immunization certification who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about improving community health through vaccination services.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer vaccines and immunizations in accordance with company protocols and state regulations.
- Provide a positive and professional patient experience before, during, and after immunization services.
- Screen patients for vaccine eligibility and document immunization records accurately.
- Maintain compliance with all vaccine storage, handling, and documentation requirements.
- Support pharmacy workflow, including prescription processing, data entry, inventory management, and customer service activities.
- Educate patients on vaccine recommendations, benefits, and potential side effects within scope of practice.
- Assist in promoting seasonal immunization programs and community health initiatives.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy team members to achieve patient care and operational goals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Connecticut Pharmacy Technician registration.
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
- Completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician Immunization Certification Program.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start date.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Previous retail pharmacy experience.
- Prior immunization administration experience.
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and vaccine documentation platforms.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to administer injections safely and effectively.
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds as needed.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, including typing and prescription processing.
