Sanmina Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Cycle Count Supervisor to lead inventory accuracy and cycle count operations at our El Paso facility. This first-level supervisory role is responsible for directing cycle count programs, leading inventory control teams, investigating inventory discrepancies, and ensuring inventory accuracy across raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, extensive inventory control experience, and a passion for continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly cycle count schedules based on ABC classifications, high-value inventory, and fast-moving materials.
- Lead physical inventory counts and random inventory audits across raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods.
- Reconcile physical inventory with ERP records and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Conduct root cause analysis of inventory variances, including shrinkage, damaged materials, transaction errors, and process failures.
- Implement corrective actions and improve inventory control procedures to prevent recurring discrepancies.
- Lead, coach, train, and mentor the Cycle Count and Inventory Control team.
- Establish performance expectations, conduct employee evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Utilize Oracle or other ERP systems to process inventory transactions, monitor inventory accuracy, and maintain system integrity.
- Generate inventory accuracy reports, variance reports, KPI dashboards, and cycle count metrics using Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Monitor negative inventory balances, non-conforming inventory, obsolete inventory, and expired materials while processing required inventory adjustments.
- Collaborate with Receiving, Stockroom, Production, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to improve material flow and prevent production shortages.
- Coordinate with Quality Control to inspect and properly quarantine damaged or non-conforming materials.
- Identify bottlenecks inventory processes and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, customer audits, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, inventory procedures, and warehouse best practices.
- Promote a safe work environment by identifying hazards, enforcing PPE requirements, and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of equivalent experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, warehouse operations, or material management.
- At least 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar inventory management software.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, warehouse operations, and material flow.
- Experience with ABC inventory classifications, perpetual inventory systems, inventory audits, and inventory accuracy programs.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, warehouse, and logistics operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and pivot tables.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience performing root cause analysis using methodologies such as Five Whys or similar continuous improvement tools.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, twist, and reach above shoulder level and below the waist.
- Ability to safely work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
