STAFF ACCOUNTANT / BOOKKEEPING, PAYROLL & TAX PREPARATION

Compensation: $52,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with a variety of small business and individual clients while gaining experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation.
The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly bookkeeping and accounting records for multiple clients
- Process payroll and payroll tax filings
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Assist with individual, partnership, corporate, and trust tax return preparation
- Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and tax matters
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation
- Assist with sales tax, franchise tax, and other compliance filings
- Support partners and senior staff with special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, or public accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop required
- Experience with payroll processing preferred
- Tax preparation experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting experience
- Accounting degree or related coursework
- Experience preparing business and individual tax returns
- Experience with payroll and sales tax reporting
