Hiring Range: $53,962.00-$65,606/Annually
Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m./Monday-Friday
Position is critical to emergency operations and will report to work despite or because of an emergency or disaster event.
Devoted to maintaining and repairing City property, equipment, and facilities through the performance of semi-skilled and skilled labor and technical work. Provide specialized paraprofessional and skilled technical maintenance work that requires sufficient subject-matter knowledge and expertise in an assigned field to reconcile and verify the work of others; train others; serve as an escalation point for problem-solving; coordinate processes; implement policies and procedures and provide technical assistance to higher level staff. Decision-making is limited to organizing tasks in more complex operational processes that include coordination of logistics and handling of unanticipated factors within standard policies and procedures to meet established goals. Perform highly technical maintenance work or lead work crews performing basic and complex labor, equipment operation, construction, maintenance, and/or repair tasks.
Responsible for ensuring daily activity logs and reports are correctly completed; assigning work; inspecting work; ensuring quality control; operating complex equipment; and performing the most complex of tasks related to the work assignment.
- Leads and participates in the maintenance, repair, and improvement of City facilities, with primary responsibility for carpentry, painting, and roofing work. May serve as a lead worker by assigning tasks, inspecting completed work, coordinating safety practices, and ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

Performs complex carpentry, painting, welding, masonry, and roofing work, including constructing, repairing, and finishing building components; preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces; inspecting and repairing roofing systems; and performing related building maintenance as needed.

Operates and safely uses specialized facilities maintenance equipment and tools, including ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, roofing equipment, power and hand tools, paint sprayers, pressure washers, and other equipment required to perform assigned work.

Plans, coordinates, and monitors painting and roofing projects, including evaluating work scope, selecting appropriate materials and finishes, scheduling work, coordinating contractors when applicable, and conducting final inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

Performs routine roof inspections, identifies maintenance and repair needs, coordinates commercial roofing repairs and contractor activities, and documents findings and recommendations.

Completes daily work orders, activity logs, inspection reports, and inventory documentation accurately and timely; monitors materials and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.

Provides excellent customer service by responding to maintenance requests, assessing and resolving complex facility issues, communicating project status, and providing guidance on maintenance procedures and best practices.

As assigned, may serve as a lead worker, assigning work and monitoring work completion.

Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
This position is subject to on-call, recall, and after-hours work and work during inclement weather.
