Job Description
Maintenance Technician needed for apartment community in the Demopolis, AL area. This position is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the community from both a preventative and corrective standpoint. Must have experience and knowledge in all aspects of apartment maintenance such as plumbing, carpentry, sheet rock repair, some electrical, and painting. Candidates for this position must be self-motivated, organized, work well with other people and willing to give a high level of customer service. Current references needed to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*HVAC certification preferred
*Ensure residents are provided a clean, well-maintained community
*Experience with painting
*Knowledge in electrical required (lighting, wiring, 240 volt, etc.)
*Knowledge in plumbing required (toilets, faucets, and piping repairs)
*Knowledge in all interior and exterior carpentry
*Satisfying service requests promptly (within 24 hours) and efficiently
*Maintenance required to be "on-call" for after-hours emergency service
*Exercising control over maintenance expenditures including keeping an inventory of frequently used parts and replacement items
*Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds
*Must be a fast learner and self motivated
*Must be honest, courteous and possess cooperative character traits
*Good communication and organizational skills required
*Must have a valid driver's license, proper automobile liability insurance, and dependable transportation
*Must be willing to perform any and all duties related to the position
Required Experience:
Two years of relevant experience is required. Maintenance Technicians perform work that requires constant physical activity and must have the ability to read and understand written instructions and complete standard paperwork. Applicant must be able to work in moderately difficult environments, provide basic tools to complete jobs, and to regularly lift items weighing up to and occasionally above 50 lbs.
