Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Step-Down / Intermediate Care to join healthcare team in Morristown, NJ. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience caring for patients in an intermediate care or step-down setting.
The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to provide safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
· Assess patients and identify individual healthcare needs.
· Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
· Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical step-down/intermediate care environment.
· Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
· Promote evidence-based nursing practices and a positive healing environment.
· Communicate patient conditions, care plans, and changes in status effectively.
· Demonstrate professionalism, respect, involvement, dignity, and excellence in all aspects of patient care.
· Accurately document patient information and care activities.
· Utilize computer systems and electronic medical records effectively.
· Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and the ability to respond appropriately to patient needs.
Required Qualifications
· Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
· Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care or Step-Down nursing experience.
· Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
· BLS certification required.
· ACLS certification required.
· Strong patient assessment skills.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Strong computer skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
· Proficiency in English – speaking, reading, and writing.
Education
· Associate Degree in Nursing required.
· Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Schedule
· 12-hour shifts
· 3 shifts per week
· 36 hours per week
· Every 3rd weekend
· Floating as needed
· Holiday coverage as required
Pay: $55.00 - $57.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 per week
