Schedule: Full-Time | Three 12-hour shifts per week
Compensation: $20–$24/hour + $3/hour Overnight Shift Differential

East End Veterinary Center (EEVC) as a full-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant in Riverhead, NY. Work alongside experienced veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians while supporting emergency and critical care patients in a fast-paced specialty animal hospital environment.

Compensation-
$20–$23/hour based on experience and skillset

Schedule-
Anticipated schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week

Responsibilities-
Clean, prepare, and sterilize surgical equipment and instrument packs (gas sterilization certification provided)

Run CT scans from start to finish following department protocols

Obtain orthopedic and standard radiographs

Safely restrain patients for examinations and anesthetic procedures

Set up and break down the surgery department for daily procedures

Assist with surgical case preparation and patient care

Accurately obtain and record patient vital signs

Assist with appointments and patient history collection

Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service teams

Maintain flexibility to support a rotating schedule and evolving patient needs
Qualifications-
Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred

Surgical, anesthesia, radiology, or specialty hospital experience is a plus

Strong patient handling and restraint skills

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
