Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and responsible Preschool Bus Driver to join our team for the morning shift on a part-time basis. Duties
- Safely operate a school bus during morning routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and readiness
- Assist children boarding and exiting the bus, providing support as needed to ensure their safety and comfort
- Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and school administrators regarding route schedules and any delays or issues
- Follow established behavior management procedures to promote positive conduct among children during transportation
- Complete accurate documentation of daily routes, incidents, and vehicle inspections
- Ensure the bus is clean, organized, and well-maintained for daily operations
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a focus on school or paratransit services
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging with diverse communities
- Knowledge of driving safety protocols, mechanical basics, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, kindness, and behavior management techniques
- Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with parents and school staff
- Familiarity with child care practices and understanding of safety regulations related to transporting young children
- Multilingual capabilities enhance communication with diverse families; experience in teaching or caregiving is advantageous
- Strong driving record with valid licenses appropriate for school bus operation; <PERSON> driver certification preferred where applicable
