Full Job Description
Wok & Karahi is hiring a reliable Line Cook / Prep Cook for our halal Indian, Pakistani, and Chinese fusion restaurant.
We are looking for someone who can support both daily prep and line cooking during service. This role is important because the kitchen gets busy during dinner, weekends, and catering orders. The right person should be dependable, clean, fast, and willing to learn our recipes and kitchen system.
Experience with Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Hakka, wok cooking, curry, rice, noodles, frying, or restaurant prep is a strong plus, but we are also open to someone with solid kitchen experience who learns quickly.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients before service, including cutting vegetables, portioning proteins, sauces, rice, noodles, and basic kitchen prep.
Cook menu items during service according to restaurant recipes and plating standards.
Work on the line during busy dinner and weekend shifts.
Help maintain consistency in taste, portions, spice levels, and presentation.
Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift.
Follow food safety, sanitation, labeling, FIFO, and storage standards.
Support catering prep when needed.
Communicate clearly with the chef, kitchen porter, servers, and management.
Help with closing tasks, cleaning, restocking, and organizing for the next day.
Assist with other kitchen duties when needed.
Requirements
Must have prior kitchen or restaurant cooking experience.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen.
Must be reliable and show up on time.
Must be able to stand for long shifts.
Must be able to lift, carry, clean, prep, and move around the kitchen as needed.
Must be clean, organized, and respectful.
Must be able to follow recipes and instructions.
Must be available Tuesday, Thursday, Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday evening.
Experience with halal food, Indian/Pakistani food, Chinese food, wok cooking, frying, or catering prep is preferred.
Food Handler certification is preferred or must be obtained if hired.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
