OVERALL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Human Resources Generalist supports EFINEA's people operations by managing and coordinating the day-to-day functions of Human Resources, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HRIS and timekeeping administration, benefits coordination, training compliance, performance review support, workers' compensation, policy administration, and employment law compliance. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers, helping ensure HR processes are consistent, timely, confidential, and aligned with EFINEA's business needs, culture, and compliance obligations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Reviews, tracks, and documents completion of required and optional employee training, continuing education, certifications, safety training, anti-harassment training, work assessments, and other compliance-related requirements.
· Supports the recruiting and hiring process by posting open roles, reviewing applicants, coordinating interviews, participating in interviews, making hiring recommendations, and collaborating with department managers to identify the skills and competencies required for open positions.
· Coordinates background checks, pre-employment drug screening, employment eligibility verification, and related pre-employment documentation in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
· Coordinates new hire onboarding and orientation, including required documentation, system setup, policy acknowledgment, benefits information, and introduction to EFINEA's workplace expectations and culture.
· Maintains HRIS and employee records, enters and audits employee data, monitors timekeeping activity, and assists employees and managers with HRIS and timekeeping questions.
· Coordinates and supports the annual performance review process, including timelines, forms, manager communications, tracking completion, and maintaining related documentation.
· Coordinates workers' compensation claims, including incident reporting, documentation, carrier communication, employee follow-up, and coordination with management on return-to-work matters.
· Administers and supports HR programs and processes, including compensation, benefits, paid time off, leaves of absence, disciplinary matters, employee relations, investigations, performance management, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
· Responds to employment-related questions from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex, sensitive, or legally significant matters to the CFO or other appropriate resource.
· Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, investigations, and other employee relations matters while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate documentation.
· Maintains awareness of federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices; assists with reviewing and updating policies, procedures, forms, and practices to support ongoing compliance.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; three to five years of related HR experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, may be considered.
- At least one year of broad HR generalist experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP or other HR certification preferred.
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, and/or timekeeping systems preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Continually required to either stand, walk or sit.
- Requires verbal communication and interaction (speech and hearing).
- The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Occasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: ability to adjust focus.
