At Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor, every interaction is an opportunity to help young people and families feel welcomed, supported, and connected to their community. The Front Desk Clerk plays an important role in creating that experience by serving as the welcoming face of the Club at one of our program sites and helping ensure members have access to the programs and opportunities that help them thrive.
This position provides friendly, responsive service to members, parents/guardians, visitors, and community partners while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Club. The Front Desk Clerk assists families with enrollment and registration, maintains accurate member and attendance records, manages required program documentation, and helps ensure our sites operate in a safe, organized, and welcoming manner. Through careful attention to detail and a commitment to excellent service, this role helps create a positive experience for families while supporting the compliance and program requirements that allow us to deliver on our mission.
What You'll Do
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting members, parents/guardians, guests, and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
- Support member registration and enrollment by assisting families with applications, maintaining required documentation, and keeping member information accurate and up to date.
- Manage front desk operations including answering phones, taking messages, providing general information, and enforcing member identification and guest visitation policies.
- Maintain accurate attendance records by ensuring students are properly signed in and out through the BTB App and Daxko and correcting missed or inaccurate attendance as needed.
- Manage required program documentation, including ERCs, attendance records, and other forms, ensuring all information is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
- Follow grant and program requirements by adhering to established procedures for enrollment, attendance, documentation, and recordkeeping to ensure ongoing compliance with organizational and funding requirements.
- Protect member and organizational information by maintaining confidentiality, securing sensitive records, and following established privacy and data security procedures.
- Support a safe and organized facility by remaining alert to emergencies, following emergency procedures, communicating concerns promptly, and maintaining a welcoming and organized front desk environment.
What You Bring
- Highschool Diploma is mandatory; college experience is preferred
- A minimum of one-year clerical and customer service experience
- Ability to use common office equipment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
- Typing/keyboarding skills of at least 40 wpm
- CPR/First Aid certification (provided upon hire)
- Must complete all pre-employment clearances (see below)

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Onsite at designated work location (standalone Clubhouse or school site) involving indoor and outdoor activities
- Ability to push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Ability to project voice with sufficient volume to be heard while addressing groups
- Sufficient visual acuity to read printed materials, observe youth in a group setting, and ensure a safe and engaging environment
