Overview
School Moves/Preschool Moves is an on-location dance studio that brings dance classes into schools and the community. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our dynamic team for our Chestnut Hill location after school program teaching Hip-Hop. The ideal candidate will have a background in dance, a love of kids, be engaging, patient and reliable. The Dance Instructor will play a crucial role in developing students' skills, confidence, and appreciation for the art of dance.
Availability: Wednesday mornings, starting in July - this is a temporary role with the opportunity to teach classes in the fall as well.
Must have at least one year of Dance teaching experience.
Experience with children ages Preschool - 2nd grade is a plus.
Duties
- Executing lesson plans, while creating an engaging, fun, nurturing atmosphere for different age groups, including preschoolers and/or elementary age students.
- Teach various dance styles, ensuring students grasp fundamental techniques while encouraging personal expression.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and creativity.
Qualifications
- Experience in dance instruction in at least one style of dance (ballet, jazz, hip-hop, pre-ballet etc.).
- Experience working with preschool-aged and elementary school-aged children is preferred. Background in early childhood education is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire students effectively.
- Dependable and reliable.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
