Multi-building owned corporation is looking for a skilled and versatile Commercial Property Maintenance Technician to ensure our facilities remain safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair, and improvement work across painting, drywall, carpentry, and general building systems. This role helps maintain a safe, functional, and professional facility by completing repairs, responding to maintenance needs, inspecting building conditions, and keeping tools and supplies ready for daily work.
You will be the "boots on the ground" responsible for the upkeep of Office Buildings, Retail Centers and Industrial Parks. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and understands that well-maintained properties are essential for tenant satisfaction and safety.
Job Summary:
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experienced Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 5 years’ commercial maintenance experience
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Understanding of current safety regulations and protocols
- Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address malfunctions
- The ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:
Painting Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and cleaning as needed.
- Mix, match, and apply colors to walls, doors, trim, and other interior or exterior surfaces.
- Apply paint, stain, sealants, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
Drywall Responsibilities
- Hang new drywall sheets on walls and ceilings, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and fastening.
- Repair holes, cracks, dents, and water damage in plaster or drywall surfaces.
- Tape, mud, sand, and finish joints to create smooth, paint-ready surfaces.
Carpentry Responsibilities
- Repair, replace, and adjust doors, windows, frames, hardware, and related fixtures.
- Build, repair, and install shelves, cabinets, partitions, and other basic wood or finish carpentry features.
- Repair flooring, baseboards, molding, and wooden fixtures to maintain safe and professional building conditions.
General Building Maintenance Responsibilities
- Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs, including changing lights, replacing basic fixtures, and addressing small leaks.
- Inspect the building regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and repair priorities.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, materials, equipment, and supplies needed to complete assigned jobs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in building maintenance, painting, drywall, carpentry, or a related trade preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Basic understanding of, carpentry, painting, general repair practices and possibly plumbing, electrical.
- Ability to read work orders, follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and complete assignments with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safe work practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and lift materials during the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry tools, supplies, and materials as required for maintenance tasks.
- Comfortable working on ladders, in tight spaces, and in indoor or outdoor conditions as needed.
Work Environment
This position works in a building maintenance environment and may involve exposure to dust, paint, cleaning materials, noise, tools, and varying temperatures. The employee is expected to follow all safety procedures, use appropriate protective equipment, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Schedule and Employment Status
Schedule, pay range, employment status, reporting structure, and location may be customized based on organizational needs.
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
