Job Overview
At Halal Birdz, the Cashier is responsible for providing a fast, accurate, and professional customer experience.
This role serves as the first and last point of contact with customers. You are responsible for setting the tone, ensuring orders are taken correctly, and maintaining smooth flow between the front and back of house.
Position Summary
The Cashier is responsible for:
- Taking customer orders accurately
- Processing payments through the POS system
- Managing order flow and communication with the kitchen
You play a key role in customer satisfaction, order accuracy, and overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet customers in a professional and respectful manner
- Take orders clearly and accurately
- Answer questions about the menu and provide recommendations
- Maintain a positive and efficient customer experience
Order Accuracy and POS
- Enter orders correctly into the POS system
- Handle cash, card, and digital payments
- Ensure all modifications and special instructions are communicated clearly
Speed and Flow
- Maintain efficient service during high-volume periods
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth order flow
- Help manage lines and maintain organization at the counter
Cleanliness and Organization
- Keep front counter area clean and organized
- Restock cups, bags, lids, and other supplies
- Follow all cleanliness and food safety standards
Team Support
- Assist with bagging and handing off orders when needed
- Support team during busy periods
- Help maintain overall store organization
Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
Previous cashier or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Schedule
- Full-time (35–45 hours per week)
- 6 days per week (Mon-Sat)
- Shift is 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Must be available for lunch and dinner rushes
- Weekend availability required
Pay and Benefits
