Evening Production Manager
The Evening Production Manger is the manager responsible for managing the evening close of the facility and ensuring the bakery is properly prepared for the next production day. This role works closely with department supervisors and management to ensure all departments complete their closing responsibilities, production preparation is completed accurately, and the facility is left clean, organized, and ready for the next shift.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, dependable leader who takes ownership of the closing process, communicates effectively, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, as accuracy in counts, documentation, inventory, and production preparation is critical. The Closing Manager is expected to be a hands-on leader who supports the team by stepping into departments when needed to provide guidance, training, improve workflow, support efficiency, and help maintain production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the closing process across all production departments, ensuring closing procedures, checklists, and standards are completed correctly and on time.
- Work closely with department supervisors and team members to ensure daily responsibilities are completed while maintaining quality, food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
- Step into production areas as needed to provide support, training, improve efficiency, and help resolve challenges during the shift.
- Conduct final walkthroughs to verify production areas are clean, equipment is properly shut down, and the facility is prepared for the next production day.
- Manage and verify production preparation for the following day's schedule, including freezer organization and proper FIFO rotation.
- Manage the Defrost Department to ensure frozen products are pulled, counted, and trayed accurately according to production needs.
- Manage Dispatch to ensure customer orders are pulled, organized, and dispatched accurately and efficiently.
- Verify production counts, inventory numbers, and documentation for accuracy.
- Manage labor throughout the shift by assigning work, balancing workloads, and controlling overtime.
- Provide direction and support to team members while holding them accountable for productivity, accuracy, and company standards.
- Address production or staffing issues during the shift and communicate important updates to management.
- Complete shift reports and secure the facility at the end of the shift, ensuring the building is safe and ready for the next day.
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
