Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shop operations, ensuring timely and quality vehicle repairs in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Coordinate repair processes including auto body refinishing, auto painting, auto glass replacement, and metal fabrication using hand tools and power tools
- Manage technician workflows, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet customer expectations and deadlines
- Conduct defect root cause analysis to resolve recurring issues and improve repair procedures
- Maintain safety protocols by ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding repair estimates, progress updates, and service explanations
- Oversee inventory management of paints, auto body parts, auto glass, and tools necessary for collision repair work
- Utilize computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software for accurate assessments and billing
Experience
- Proven experience in collision repair shop management or as an auto body technician with leadership responsibilities
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, auto restoration techniques, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Hands-on experience with collision repair processes including aluminum repairs and metal fabrication
- Familiarity with automotive painting techniques, detailing, and automotive refinishing standards
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and technical equipment required for auto body work
- Experience with auto glass installation and heavy lifting tasks involved in collision repairs
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to automotive repair shops and proper PPE use
- Ability to perform defect root cause analysis to identify underlying issues in vehicle repairs
- Basic math skills for measurements, estimations, and billing purposes
- Experience with computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software is highly desirable
