Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
- Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their café experience
- Operate POS systems such as Toast to process retail sales transactions accurately
- Handle cashing out customers, managing cash handling procedures, and balancing registers at shift end
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards by following proper food handling and preparation protocols
- Assist in food service tasks including food preparation, serving baked goods or snacks, and ensuring food safety compliance
- Manage retail sales transactions efficiently while providing excellent customer service and upselling when appropriate
Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a café environment with strong coffee-making skills
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods effectively without compromising quality
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and proper food preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail or food industry setting while maintaining attention to detail
