Duties
- Assist in food preparation and plating to ensure appealing presentation in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu specifications
- Serve meals to residents and guests with friendly, professional in-person customer service
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchen surfaces, and food service equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, warming trays, and basic cooking tools
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting or transporting food items or supplies to prevent injury
- Process cash transactions accurately at point-of-sale (POS) systems when applicable
- Support food safety management by adhering to all food handling regulations and documenting sanitation procedures regularly
Qualifications
- Previous experience in fine dining, restaurant, catering, or hospitality environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety sanitizing procedures is essential
- Experience operating kitchen equipment and handling food products safely is required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with residents and guests in person
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and managing inventory counts
- Familiarity with wine knowledge or barista experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to lift weight handling requirements in the workplace safely and consistently
- Previous dietary aide or food industry experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
