The Patient Service Representative supports front desk operations by assisting patients with scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and check-in/check-out processes. This role plays a key part in providing excellent customer service while ensuring accurate patient information and efficient office operations.
Location: Plumsteadville, PA (100% Onsite)
Salary: $19–20 per hour
Essential Functions:
Greet and check in patients while providing excellent customer service
Schedule appointments and coordinate patient calendars
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary referrals or authorizations
Collect copays and update patient demographics and medical records
Answer phones and assist patients with scheduling and general questions
Maintain accurate patient information in EPIC and other systems
Support front office operations in a fast-paced primary care practice
Follow HIPAA and UPHS policies to ensure patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
Previous patient access, medical receptionist, or healthcare customer service experience
Experience with appointment scheduling and patient registration
Insurance verification and eligibility experience
Experience collecting copays and updating patient information
Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
EPIC experience strongly preferred
Experience obtaining referrals and prior authorizations is a plus
Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment
